Accessibility statement
Effective Date: January 1, 2025 Issued By: DSP Solutions, Inc. ("Modus")
1. Our Commitment
Modus is committed to making modusglobal.com usable for every customer, including people with disabilities. We build products for installers, technicians, and serious DIYers who work in varied environments. Our website should meet the same standard, built to work in real conditions for real people, including users of assistive technology.
Modus works to align modusglobal.com with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard referenced by U.S. federal regulation for state and local government websites and is widely used as the benchmark for website accessibility under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
2. What We Work On
Modus reviews and updates modusglobal.com to support a usable experience for customers who rely on assistive technology. Areas we address include:
- Alternative text for product images and other informative imagery
- Page structure with proper heading hierarchy
- Keyboard navigation for all interactive elements
- Color contrast sufficient for readability across devices
- Labels on forms and controls for screen-reader software
- Text transcripts or captions for video content where applicable
- Testing with common assistive technologies including screen readers and screen magnification software
Accessibility is not a one-time project. Modus updates content, product pages, and site features on an ongoing basis, and accessibility review is part of that update process.
3. Tested Browsers and Assistive Technology
Modus reviews modusglobal.com using the browser and assistive technology combinations listed below. This list represents Modus's priority test environments. It does not cover every browser and tool combination in use, and Modus welcomes reports of accessibility issues encountered in other environments.
Browsers:
- Google Chrome, current major version
- Mozilla Firefox, current major version
- Apple Safari, current major version
- Microsoft Edge, current major version
Assistive technologies:
- JAWS on Windows
- NVDA on Windows
- VoiceOver on macOS
- VoiceOver on iOS
- TalkBack on Android
- Keyboard-only navigation without a mouse or trackpad
Modus aims to test against current stable versions of the above browsers and assistive technologies. Older or uncommon combinations may work but are not part of the regular review cycle.
4. Known Limitations
Even with our ongoing work, some content on modusglobal.com may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Known areas include:
- Product documentation such as PDFs, installation guides, and specification sheets may not always include full accessibility features. Modus is working to review and remediate these documents.
- Third-party content embedded on modusglobal.com, for example social media feeds, customer reviews, or content from partner services, is managed by those third parties and may not meet the same accessibility standards.
- Older blog posts and content published before the current accessibility review process may contain accessibility gaps.
Modus prioritizes remediation based on customer feedback and the content most relevant to product selection and installation.
